Usman Khawaja opened the innings along with Josh Brown. When Josh Brown fell early Usman Khawaja joined hands with Marnus Labuschagne and put on a partnership of 128 runs off 81 balls. Usman Khawaja ended up scoring 94 off 55 balls and Marnus Labuschagne scored 73 off 48 balls. Then the cameo innings of Matt Renshaw of 24 runs off just 8 balls powered Brisbane Heat to go past 200.
