Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored a double-century

Tagenarine Chanderpaul, son of legendary West Indies cricketer Shivnarine Chanderpaul made his test debut against Australia where West Indies lost the series but Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s disciplined batting display helped him to earn a good name. Though, he started well and scored the fifties he couldn’t convert his good start into centuries. In the first test match against Zimbabwe which started on February 4 has been intervened by rains for the first two days. Tagenarine Chanderpaul who scored his maiden test century has converted it into a double-century and ended up with an unbeaten 207 (467 balls). He became the slowest West Indian player to score a double-century in Test Cricket. Tagenarine Chanderpaul is the first opener other than Kraigg Braithwaite to score a test hundred for West Indies since 2014.

After Tagenaraine Chanderpaul hit a double-century the father-son duo of Shivnarine and Tagenarine Chanderpaul became the only father-son duo who has scored double-centuries in Test Cricket history.
