Sri Lanka Women’s low scoring encounters in Women’s Asia Cup

  1. Sri Lanka vs UAE
    Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat in the second match of their league stage. Sri Lanka posted a total of 109/9 in 20 overs. After rain intervened the match by DLS method UAE were meant to chase 66 runs in 11 overs. Sri Lanka however defended them to do so and won the match by 11 runs.

  2. Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh
    Bangladesh who won the toss chose to bowl first and had the upper hand when they restricted Sri Lanka from going big. Sri Lanka scored just 83/5 in 18.1 over when rain intervened. By the DLS method again Bangladesh was requested to score 41 in 7 overs which they failed to achieve. Sri Lanka won the match by 3 runs.

  3. Sri Lanka vs Pakistan (league stage)
    Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. Sri Lanka was bowled out in 18.5 overs for just 112 runs. In return, Sri Lanka did all they could but eventually missed the game and Pakistan won the match by 5 wickets.

  4. Sri Lanka vs Pakistan (Semi-final 2)
    Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. This time they did better than the league stage and scored 122/6 in 20 overs. This time Sri Lanka successfully restricted Pakistan from chasing the target. Sri Lanka won the match by just 1 run.

Out of 4 low-scoring encounters, Sri Lanka won 3 of them and lost 1. It is going to be India vs Sri Lanka in the finals of Women’s Asia Cup 2022.
