Bangladesh all-rounder Sohag Gazi becomes the only cricketer to score a century and pick a hat trick in the same test. Indian allrounder Irfan Pathan is the only cricketer to take a hat trick in the first over.

Australian bowler Merv Hughes is the only cricketer to take a hat trick in 3 overs. He took the wicket of Curtly Ambrose in the last ball of an over and took the wicket of Pattrick Patterson in the 1st ball of the next over and picked the wicket of Gordon Greenidge in the first ball of the second innings.
