Toss Pakistan chose to bowl vs New Zealand
Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to chase in the tri-series final against New Zealand in Christchurch. The visitors made one change, bringing in Haris Rauf in place of Mohammad Hasnain.
New Zealand who batted first posted a total of 163/7 in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan’s star openers put on a partnership of 29(26 balls). Bracewell picked the wicket of Babar Azam when he was in 15 runs. Then Shan Masood came in and built a slow partnership of 35(35 balls) along with Mohammad Rizwan. Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan walked back in a short time which made it tough for Pakistan. Haider Ali and Mohammed Nawaz came to rescue Pakistan and a quick fire 56 runs partnership from 26 balls helped them to close in for the target. When Haider Ali got out Asif Ali came in and got out for just 1 run. Then Mohammed Nawaz and Ifthikar Ahmed joined hands and played a sensible inning and ensured Pakistan go crossed the target. Nawaz and Ifthikar pair scored 36 runs from 20 balls which came in at a crucial time. Pakistan won the game by 5 wickets and with 3 balls remaining.
