Pakistan has rested key players and named a new-look side filled with fresh talent, with the onus on managing the workloads as well preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. Regular captain Babar Azam, opener Fakhar Zaman, the pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi, as well as Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper-batter, have all been rested. All-rounder Shadab Khan will captain Pakistan for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, which is set to commence on 24 March.
