In 1990:
Brain Lara made his test debut today against Pakistan in Lahore. He scored 44 on his debut before getting out of legendary all-rounder Imran Khan. In the same match, Carl Hooper scored 134. The match was drawn even though Curtly Ambrose (5 for 35) and Ian Bishop (5 for 41) shot Pakistan out for 122 in their first innings.

In 1989:
Javed Miandad, a Pakistani batter scored 100 in his 100th test match he finished with 145 runs, and Shoaib Mohammad was 203 not out, as the third Test against India ended as a high-scoring draw.
