New format for 2024 T20 World Cup has been announced

The 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA will be played in a different format from the previous two editions of the tournament.

The tournament consists of 20 teams divided into 4 groups with 5 teams in each group. The top 2 teams from each group will qualify for the super 8. The 8 teams will be divided into 2 groups, 4 teams in each group. The top two teams in each of the two Super Eights groups will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be followed by the final.

As far as now 12 teams have confirmed their berth for the World Cup. USA and West Indies qualified for the tournament as hosts. The other teams who have qualified for the tournament are Australia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the Netherlands.

The other 8 teams will be determined by the regional qualifiers league.
