Monty Desai joins Nepal as head coach

Monty Desai, until recently the assistant coach with the West Indies men’s team, is set to take charge as Nepal head coach. Khanal said that CAN had recommended Desai’s name to the Nepal Sports Council, whose ratification is mandatory for all such appointments.

Nepal’s next assignment is the ODI tri-series, to be played in Kirtipur from February 14 to 21. Here is a list depicting some of the past stints served by Monty Desai, whose career has spanned for over 12 years as of now.

– Served as Canada’s head coach at ICC World Cricket League Division 2
– As Afghanistan’s batting coach at the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers in 2018 in Zimbabwe
– As batting coach for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at ICC T20 World Cup qualification event.
– He has also held coaching roles with Indian regional teams and several Indian Premier League franchises such as Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Lions (GL).
