Mark Wood, the England pacer, has been ruled out of the first Test against Pakistan following a hip injury he sustained during the recently concluded T20 World Cup, head coach Brendon McCullum confirmed on Monday.
The first of the three-match Test series is set to begin in Rawalpindi, on December 1.
Wood, who has featured in 26 Tests, picking 82 wickets, is one of the leading pace bowlers in England. This is going to be a big blow for England ahead of 1st test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi. Currently, he is in rehabilitation in UAE and is expected to be available for the Second and third tests.
