Lucky Charm?! Dominic Drakes has won the IPL back to back with Gujarat Titans (2022) & Chennai Super Kings (2021) but, yet to make his IPL debut.
Dominic Drakes who was bought by Gujarat Titans for INR 1.10 Crore also signed by CSK in the previous IPL (2021) for INR 20 Lakhs as a replacement for Sam Curran. Since Moeen Ali emerged as a key player at No.3 for CSK and brilliant form from Dwayne Bravo, Josh Hazlewood left him without his debut in the 2021 IPL campaign.
After picking up for staggering 1.10 Crore he would’ve expected to make his debut this year. But Drakes is a left arm fast bowler and Gujarat Titans had Yash Dayal who was excellent throughout the season and other bowlers like Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami & Rashid Khan were key part of the squad which left him without debut for another year.
