England cricketer Joe Root has enrolled himself for the forthcoming IPL auction, scheduled to be held on December 23 in Kochi.
Root is presently in the UAE as part of preparations for the Test tour of Pakistan in December. England then embarks on a Test tour of New Zealand in February next year where they play two Tests. England also plays the white-ball series in South Africa and Bangladesh in early 2023.
Root went unsold in the 2018 IPL auction and has never featured in the T20 league. He last played a T20I in 2019 and hasn’t been part of England’s squad for the last two T20 World Cups (2021 and 2022).
