India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year with a stress fracture.
Bumrah was earlier ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a back injury. In his last T20I on September 25, the third and final match against Australia, he had conceded 50 off four overs - his worst T20I figures.
He is being monitored by the BCCI medical team. But given his recurring back injury, the decision makers are unwilling to take chances with the fitness of one of their key players during a World Cup.
The replacement is yet to be announced possibilities are high for Mohammed Shami. Who should replace Jasprit Bumrah in the WC 2022 ?
