India Women's U-19 won the inaugural edition of Women's U-19 T20 World Cup

India Women’s U-19 won the finals with a thumping victory over England Women’s U-19 at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. India won the toss and elected to bowl first. Titas Sadhu medium pacer bowled one of the most economical spells in T20 cricket and finished her 4-over spell with a total of 6 runs and picked 2 wickets and was adjudged as the player of the match. India restricted England to 68 in 17.1 overs. Along with Titas Sadhu, Parshavi Chopra and Archana Devi picked up 2 wickets each. Mannat Kashyap, Sonam Yadav and Skipper Shafali Verma picked up 1 wicket each.

In reply, India chased the target of 69 runs in 14 overs and won the match by 7 wickets and 36 balls to spare. The skipper broke down in tears after winning the World Cup. Shweta Sherawat who had a wonderful tournament has scored 297 runs in 7 matches with an average of 99.00 and is expected to pick at a higher price in the upcoming Women’s Premier League inaugural edition. It’s good to see lot of young talent coming up and performing on a big stage like this and tournaments like the Women’s Premier League is going to be a turnaround for Women’s Cricket in India.

Grace Scrivens, England skipper has been adjudged as the player of the series who has scored 293 runs in 7 matches with an average of 41.86.
