Some good players have been a bit chubby in the past:
David Boon, Graham Gooch, Arjuna Ranatunga Aravinda De Silva et all were all a bit chubby but played well. Recent example will be Rakheem Cornwall. Fit doesn’t always mean not chubby.
If Sarfaraz can play that well in Ranji then he can definitely play well for India in home conditions. He’s consistently shown the ability to play long innings for the past 3 years. What did Suryakumar Yadav shown in the longer format during this period?
It was unfair selecting SKY over Sarfaraz in this format. Hope he gets a call into the Test side soon!
