CSK won their 5th title in the IPL history. A chase that was truncated down to 15 overs, got off to a solid start with their openers Ruturaj and Devon Conway getting them a top start once again. Noor Ahmed bowled a wonderful spell giving away just 17 runs picking up both the openers wickets. Ambati Rayudu made an impact by hitting 6,4,6 against Mohit Sharma but got out in the next ball and that led up to the wicket of Dhoni in the next ball. Shivam Dube who struggled in the starting went on to hit back to back six against Rashid Khan which boosted the confidence of CSK and with 10 required of 2 balls Jadeja smashed a 6 and a 4 to chase down the target.
