Ben Wells forced to retire due to rare heart condition

Ben Wells, the 23-year-old Gloucestershire wicketkeeper-batter, has been forced to retire from cricket after being diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy a rare heart condition. Former England batter James Taylor was also diagnosed with the same heart condition before. Ben Wells debuted in 2021 and featured in 1 first-class game, 15 List A matches and 9 T20s in his three-year domestic career. He scored his maiden century in his last domestic game, a One-Day Cup contest against Durham.
