The BCCI has announced the squad for the Sri Lanka series which is scheduled for January 2023. Shikar Dhawan who led the team which played against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka has been dropped due to his performance in recent times. Dhawan has been battling poor form in the ODI format this year. His average of 34.40 and strike rate of 74.21 in 2022 are the lowest he has registered ever since his comeback in 2013.
While both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have been dropped from the T20 squad, Rohit will lead in the ODI format. Sanju Samson has been included in the T20 squad while Ishan Kishan makes it to both the squad. Shivam Mavi and Mukesh Kumar find their way to the international side in the T20 format.
