Bangladesh's fighting spirit

Bangladesh is putting on a fight against Sri Lanka in the first innings of the first test in a two-match series held in Bangladesh. The blistering knock of 199(397) from Angelo Mathews helped Sri Lanka to post a big score on board of 397 runs. The opening pair of Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudul Hasan Joy put on a wonderful partnership of 162(297). This partnership is their first 100 runs partnership in a test match in the last five years. Mahmudul Hasan couldn’t convert his start to big runs and got out on 58(142). But Tamim Iqbal completed his century and went on to score 133(217) before getting retired hurt. Sri Lankans made a comeback by taking two quick wickets of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Monimul Haque. Then the duo of Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Kumar Das outplayed Lankans bowling and scored a partnership of 98*(211) which helped Bangladesh to surpass the 300 mark. At the end of day 3, Bangladesh scored 318/3 and trailing by 79 runs.
