Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo admitted during the press conference after the first Test that they are not sure whether Shakib al Hasan would be able to bowl in the second Test. The Bangladesh skipper has been laid low by a shoulder problem, alongside pain in the ribs after being hurt in the second ODI by Umran Malik’s short ball. Shakib bowled just 12 overs in the first innings and didn’t bowl during the second innings.
Pace bowler Ebadot Hossain, who couldn’t bowl in the second innings of the opening Test due to back injury, isn’t part of the squad. Shoriful Islam has also been ruled out after sustaining a hamstring injury during a practice session just before the start of the first Test.
