Australia beat India by 9 runs to win the gold medal in CWG2022. Australia after loosing their first wicket early Beth Mooney and Meg Lanning put on a 74 runs partnership for the second wicket and stabilized their innings. The cameo from Gardner and Haynes helped Australia to score a total of 161 from 20 overs when regular wickets from Indians put pressure on one hand. The early wickets of Smriti Mandana and Shafali Verma made India to feel the pressure while batting, Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur came to rescue by putting a partnership of 96 runs. Australians came back to the game after picking up the wicket of Jemima by Schutt. After the wicket of Jemima India lost 7 wickets for the next 34 runs. Though it looked possible till the last over Indian batters couldn’t control the wicket flow which made them to lose the match. The battle between Australia women and India women is always a blissful entertainment to watch. It remained the same in this final too, both the teams had equal chance of winning Australian outplayed Indians and went on to clinch Gold medal in this CWG2022.
