Charith Asalanka’s wonderful innings of 91(95) helped Sri Lanka to propel their total to 268 against Afghanistan in the 1st ODI. Sri Lanka lost 4 wickets for 84 runs, Asalanka and Dananjaya de Silva scored 99 runs in partnership for the 5th wicket. Danajaya de Silva got out for 51 runs. For Afghanistan, both the left-arm pacers Fazalhaq Farooqui and Fareed Ahmed picked 2 wickets each. Azamtullah Omarzai, Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi picked 1 wicket each. Sri Lanka was bowled out in the last ball of the inning and scored 268 in 50 overs.
