Ankit Bawne suffered a severe strain in his hip a ball before he got out in the semifinals against Assam on Wednesday (November 30). He hammered 110 and was out in the final over and did not field in the Assam innings. Maharashtra won by 12 runs but the win may have come at a cost.
Ankit Bawne has been taken for MRI scans and will decide on the basis of reports and the Doctor’s advice. Bawne, a right-handed batsman, has scored 571 in eight games, 19 more than the side’s stat batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.
