Aiden Markram has been appointed as captain of the South Africa T20I squad. The 28-year-old Markram, who led South Africa to the Under-19 World Cup title in 2014, has captained at the domestic and franchise levels, including the inaugural edition of the SA20 where he led Sunrisers Eastern Cape to the title. Markram’s first captaincy assignment will be the three T20Is against the West Indies later this month. Temba Bavuma former captain of the South African team has been left out of the T20I squad but will continue as skipper of the ODI team and Test squad.
