A quick-fire inning from Ben Duckett helped England recover from the early blow. New Zealand won the toss and chose to field first. Ben Duckett and Zack Crawley opened the innings for England. Tim Southee struck early and picked the wicket of Zack Crawley in the 3rd over. Then Ben Duckett joined hands with Ollie Pope and put on a partnership of 99 runs from 99 balls for the 2nd wicket. Ben Duckett scored 84 off 68 balls with 14 fours in his innings.
