2 players from USA and 1 from Jersey team were found guilty of breaching ICC Code of Conduct

Ali Khan from the United States has been banned for two matches - ODIs or T20Is, whichever comes first - for breaching ICC Code of Conduct during the World Cup Qualifier Play-off match in Windhoek. Jasdeep Singh, also from USA, was fined 30 percent of his match fee and handed two demerit points whereas Elliot Miles from Jersey was fined 15 percent of his match fee and handed one demerit point.

Singh was fined for breaching Article 2.12 of the Code, which relates to “inappropriate physical contact with a Player, Player Support Personnel, Umpire, Match Referee or any other person (including a spectator) during an International Match.”

Miles was fined for breaching Article 2.3 of the Code, which relates to “use of an audible obscenity during an International Match.”

“All three players admitted their offences and accepted the sanctions proposed by Owen Chirombe of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, so there was no need for formal hearings,” the ICC said in a media release.

The charges were levelled by the onfield umpires Andrew Louw and Claus Schumacher, and third umpire David Odhiambo
